Guarantee conditions

Care that protects your blades and your chipper

Knife maintenance is essential for optimum output and to reduce the risk of catastrophic failure. Follow these conditions to maintain your Knifetime Guarantee cover.

Use wet grinding

Blades must be wet-ground with an abrasive grinding wheel to minimise heat at the cutting edge.

Never use a handheld grinder

Handheld grinding can cause heat cracks and place unnecessary stress on the blade, machine and bearings.

Clean mounting surfaces

Remove all debris from the blade surface and flywheel area to prevent uneven clamping and possible breakage.

Torque bolts correctly

Tighten bolts to the machine manufacturer’s specification and replace any bolts that show signs of wear.

Set the blade-to-anvil gap

Follow the machine handbook and reset the specified clearance whenever blades are replaced.

Maintain the anvil

Keep the anvil or counter knife sharp as well as the blades to support efficient and consistent chipping.

Knifetime Guarantee FAQs

Which products are covered?

The Knifetime Guarantee applies to Rotatech wood chipper blades sold with Knifetime Guarantee cover. If you are unsure whether your blade is eligible, contact our team with the product or order details.

Can my blades be sharpened?

Yes. Rotatech chipper blades are designed to be professionally sharpened multiple times, provided sufficient usable material remains and the correct wet-grinding process and angle are used.

Does sharpening affect the guarantee?

Sharpening must follow the conditions above. Blades should be wet-ground with an abrasive wheel and must never be sharpened using a handheld grinder.

Why are the anvil and blade gap important?

A sharp anvil and the correct blade-to-anvil clearance support efficient cutting. Incorrect clearance can reduce performance and place unnecessary stress on the cutting system.

How do I ask about a guarantee claim?

Contact the Rotatech customer support team with your order information, blade details and photographs. Our team will assess the information against the Knifetime Guarantee conditions.
