There is quite a big difference between Semi Chisel and Full Chisel chainsaws. Semi Chisel chainsaws have rounded corners for each of the cutters so that they can retain their sharpness for longer and work better in dirty and cold conditions. However, this is not the case for Full Chisel chainsaws as they are meant for large pieces of work and do not work as efficiently in difficult conditions.

・Bar Mounted Sharpeners – This tool is mainly used in industrial environments to sharpen a chainsaw quickly. It is very effective and sharpens chainsaw chains in a matter of minutes.

When you start to notice that your chainsaw chain becomes less efficient at cutting through material it should indicate that your chainsaw chain needs sharpening. Another way to talk that you need to sharpen your chainsaw chain is if the sawdust emitted from cutting becomes chunky meaning your blade is dull.
