How Our Blade Sharpening Service Works

How Our Blade Sharpening Service Works

At Rotatech, we recognise the critical role that sharp blades play. A dull blade not only reduces efficiency but can also cause wear and tear on your machinery. Our specialised Chipper Blades Sharpening Service is designed to bring life back to your worn-out blades, ensuring they perform at their best.

Step One: Place Your Order

Firstly, head to the Blade Sharpening Page on the Rotatech Store. Choose your blade type, wear level, and the number of blades to place your order from the options below:

Blade Type:

Double Hollow: Blades with two concave surfaces, known for maintaining sharpness and efficiency. (Popular Makes/Models: Timberwolf 160, 180, 190, 230, 240, 280, 300)

Single Hollow: Blades with one concave and one flat surface, offering a balance of sharpness and durability. (Popular Makes/Models: Timberwolf 35, 150)

Circular: Circular blades with multiple cutting edges, designed for continuous and heavy-duty cutting. (Popular Makes/Models: Greenmech Disc Blades)

Straight Single Edge: Blades with a single straight cutting edge, providing a robust cutting solution. (Popular Makes/Models: Kwickchip, Schliesing, Gandini)

Straight Double Edge: Blades with two straight cutting edges, allowing for reversible use and extended blade life. (Popular Makes/Models: Greenmech CS100, Jo-Beau)

Straight Chisel Edge: Blades with a chisel-like cutting edge, effective for cutting through tough materials. (Popular Makes/Models: Forst, Jensen)

Wear Level:

Slightly Worn: Minor nicks and a slightly dulled edge but overall in good shape.

Very Worn: Deep nicks and chips, with significantly dulled edges.

Add your chosen blade type, wear level, and number of blades to your cart and proceed to checkout. Once purchased, you will receive an Order Confirmation email and another email detailing how to prepare and ship your blades.

Step Two: Prepare and Pack Your Blades

Clean your blades thoroughly to remove any debris or dirt. Wrap each blade in bubble wrap, thick newspaper, or similar material to protect the edges. Use a sturdy box slightly larger than the blades, line the bottom with padding, place the wrapped blades in the centre, and fill any remaining space with more padding. Print and insert a copy of your Order Confirmation email before sealing the box securely with strong tape.

Step Three: Create Your Free Shipping Label

Once your order is placed, we will send you a link to create a free shipping label. Head to our Royal Mail Platform, enter your order number (found on your Order Confirmation email) along with your contact details. Choose to schedule a collection from your preferred address or take the parcel to your closest Royal Mail Service Point or Parcel Postbox.

Once we receive your blades, we'll sharpen them to OEM specifications. Depending on the type and quantity of blades you send, we’ll have them good as new within 2 to 5 working days. If the blades are too damaged to be sharpened, we will contact you to discuss the next steps.
